Amy Spellman
(Former) Associate Director, UChicago Health Lab
Amy Spellman is the Associate Director of Health Lab, where she works across a portfolio of research projects at the intersection of health, mental health and criminal justice. Her work includes research on innovative approaches for improving health outcomes and reducing the harms of the criminal justice system for individuals re-entering communities post incarceration. Before joining Urban Labs, Amy worked with as a research fellow with the Stean’s Family Foundation. Prior to her public policy experience, Amy worked for four years as an underwriter at Walker & Dunlop, a commercial real estate firm based in Washington, DC. Amy holds a BS in finance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and an MPP from the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy.
